DECLARING YOUR MAJOR: Choose a faculty advisor

The Biological Sciences faculty are divided into two academic departments, Ecology & Evolutionary Biology (EEB) and Molecular, Cell & Developmental Biology (MCDB). Use this chart to choose a faculty advisor appropriate for your degree program:

Your major : faculty advisor should be chosen from:
Biology BS or BA either EEB or MCD depending on your interests
Biochemistry & Molecular Biology BS Chemistry or MCD: any faculty member
Bioinformatics BS BioMedical Engineering or MCD: Ares, Zahler
Ecology & Evolutionary Biology BS EEB: any faculty member
Health Sciences BS MCD: Hartzog, Hinck, Tamkun, Zuniga
Marine Biology BS EEB: Bernardi, Carr, Costa, Croll, Potts, Raimondi, Williams
Molecular Cell & Developmental Biology BS MCD: any faculty member
Neuroscience & Behavior BS or BA by pathway
Neuroscience: MCD: Feldheim, Jin, Hinck; Behavior Pathway: EEB: Lyon, Sinervo
Plant Sciences BS EEB: Doak, Fox, Parker
Environmental Studies/Biology Combined BA Environmental Studies or EEB: Doak, Fox, Parker

Once you've chosen a faculty advisor, go to their office hours or contact them to schedule an appointment to discuss your academic plan.

NOTE: Faculty Advisors do NOT create academic plans for students, you MUST create your academic plan prior to meeting with your faculty advisor! If you need help creating your academic plan come to a degree workshop.
